At Beginner's Mind we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy. This Privacy Policy describes our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of information when you use the Beginner's Mind application (the "App").

1. Local-First Approach & Data Minimization

Beginner's Mind is designed using a "local-first" architecture. We do not require you to create an account, nor do we collect usernames, passwords, or email addresses.

All of your preferences, settings, and usage statistics (such as the number of mindful moments recorded) are stored exclusively on your device within local storage. We do not transmit or store this data on external servers.

2. Information Handled by Third Parties

While we do not actively collect personal data, the App utilizes secure third-party services to provide certain functionalities:

RevenueCat (Subscriptions): If you choose to subscribe to optional premium features, payments and entitlement management are handled by RevenueCat and your respective app store provider (e.g., Apple). RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier and purchase receipts to securely validate your subscription status.
Apple Push Notification Service (APNs): To deliver your customized Beginner's Mind reminders, the App requests permission to schedule local and push notifications. The content of these reminders is triggered internally by the App.

3. Data Control and Deletion

Because your data is stored locally on your device, you maintain complete and direct control over it.

You can update or modify your notification and application settings at any time within the App's configuration menus.
Should you choose to delete the App, all associated local tracking data and preferences will be permanently removed from your device.

4. GDPR and UK GDPR

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), you have specific data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Because Beginner's Mind fundamentally restricts data processing to your local device (aside from minimal anonymous entitlement validation via RevenueCat), your rights to access, rectification, erasure (the "right to be forgotten"), and data portability are inherently protected and fully actionable by managing your App storage or uninstalling the App directly.

5. Security

The security of your information is important to us. By storing user preferences solely on your device, we significantly mitigate the risk of data breaches. However, remember that no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. We will not explicitly notify you of changes within the App, but we encourage you to review this page for any changes. Changes are effective immediately once posted.
